I began learning about car seats when I started working at a baby store in 2009. At the time, I knew little to nothing about car seats and car seat safety. I wanted to be able to give parents and parents-to-be accurate information, but because I am not a parent, I had no personal experience to rely on. I buried myself in research, and after awhile, became horrified at the statistics regarding car seat usage. When I learned that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that at least 80% of car seats are used incorrectly, I knew I needed to do something about it.
For the last few years, I have striven to educate others about car seat safety, and I like knowing that by educating others, I’m helping to keep kids safe.
